WTF

i'm going to start a monthly post called 'WTF' which will tell the world of weird new trends that i just don't get!
this month is the 'wrong way round boy(band) hoodie'. i call it this as members of JLS and One Direction have been spotted sporting the latest trend. it appears to be a cross between a baggy snood attached to a top or they were in such a rush to go out and woo the poor defenseless girls of today that they put their hoodies on the wrong way..we all do it.
what do you think...stupid? or it doesn't matter cos they're just so damn fit!
p.s. heat christmas edition is on sale now! i've got my copy XD

Christmas Season!

Tis' the season to be jolly falalalala lalalala!
The party season is in full swing and with the holidays starting soon, you can even party on a weekday :O If you want to find party dresses then the sales are on in quite a few shops, be savvy and unless you know that the dress you are getting is a good investment for the future DON'T splurge on an uber-expensive one! i know a girl who managed to get a decent dress for £1.75 (!) now i'm not saying that over a fiver is unreasonable but i think that for teenagers the top mark should be £50, this includes accessories and shoes! if the occasion is quite important then you can be leniant but remember, there's going to be more party's next year!
if you are an adult with a good job then between £75 and £150 should be your ideal range. Now we're not writing this blog for the rich, but the ordinary fashion folk, so you may have different ideas on how much a dress/suit should cost, i'm here to give you some guidance.
i would advise people to steer clear of internet shopping unless you are familiar with the shop and it's sizes because ordering online ca cause all sorts of problems. the dress could fit but look completely different on you then it did on the website or there sizes could be different and a size 10 that would usually fit, feels more like an 8! i have had first hand experience of this myself as well as having lots of friends who have gone through the trauma of finding a dress at the last minute.
So now you don't know what to get! well if it's a club that your going to, or a friends party, then sort hemlines and a bit of chest flesh showing is fine. don't go too OTT let the jewellery, make-up, shoes do tha for you!
If it is a formal thing or family gathering then you might not want to bare too much skin, class is very stylish :)
Gold, black, dark reds and neutrals are in! So for the make-up go for either dark mysterious eyes or sexy, burgandy, juicy lips. you could also go for a rose pink/shimmer natural look, sparkling smoky eyes or matte red lips.
wit the clothes, lace dresses are very in and there are lots of tights out there with a simple patterned seem up the back or on the side- check out henry holland or pretty polly. lac black dresses are always a winner or a sparkly sequined up number.i saw a georgeous red velvet dress from whistles too.
you don't want to over-do the sparkle so choose one thing that is going to stand out. for shoes large strap wedges are in as well as sequined within an inch of their lives ones!

TREND ALERT!
if you have been keeping an eye out for the hot new designers that your friends are wearing, then you've probably heard of Paul's Boutique.
i first found Paul's Boutique when i was looking for bags on the topshop website and they were one of the designers boutiques. i fell in love and would go on the website everyday, deciding which was my favorite one, which to make mine! then i went a bit mental and bought the thing, i say i was a bit mental cos, seriously, designer stuff is overpriced and sometimes over-rated. i got that bag sometime before the summer hols and i still love it.
i must say i think i might have started a trend here :) ok i'm sure most of you will object, but please let me just feel cool. everyones i=got a pb bag or hoodie and i even saw a couple of people with the coats (top on my christmas list!)
now its a trend, though, i almost feel embarrassed cos i'm not the sort of person who wears what all the cool people wear and i like to be unique!!
the worst thing that i've done recently is wear my pb bag and hoodie at the same time (they don't even go!) my excuse is that it's my warmest hoodie and biggest bag, but it was an accident...i was rushing ok?!
so, i just thought that i should share with the world that i started this trend, last thing..can it become way unpopular now! :S

Haaaaaaaaaay!

Sorry i haven't written for ages!! As you know being us being in boarding school, makes it kinda hard to put up new posts! We probably will post about every 3 weeks, but of course there are the special days where we post in between!

Well, i have a story to tell you guys,
Its not really much of a story, but it happens at the boarding school we go to (which i won't name for security reasons ..lol)
and, its kind of unfair.. well i think anyway ;)

You see,

There's always the same old girl, who everybody loves to hate-- yet she still remains so popular, and EVERYONE follows her..

WHY?

I just dont understand, is she keeping their brains in jars?? Or maybe we should be concerned about the water :s
All i'm saying is that, you shoudn't go out of your way just to stick with a certain someone, or to get yourself popular..

COS IT WON'T WORK.

You'll just end up looking like a so called "beg friend" and loose all your true dignity!!

BUT.

If you had a friend that you were close to, and she became popular for all wrong reasons/ways , don't fret, because it is scientifically known that she WILL come back.
And when she does, dont even think twice about it, just turn, and walk in the other direction.

coming of age(and i dont mean the show!)

this summer has already seen many people's birthdays, including fizz and me, but everyone gets a different experience. even though your birthday is a wonderful (hopefully) day dedicated to you to celebrate...you everyone looks at it a little differently. i share my birthday with someone i know already but really there must be hundreds or mabye even thousands of people we all share our birthdays with, which is kinda weird; there is someone out there in the world who was born the same day, mabye the same sort of time and is experiencing a life totally dofferent but with one big similarity, they are exactly the same age as you! the typical milestone birthdays are: 1, 16,18,21,30,40,50,60,70,80,90 and the big 100. but in my eyes there is also: 5(when you start school), 10(double digits),11(double numbers so 22,33 etc), 17(you can learn to drive), 20(no longer a teenager),27(it just feels different), 37(mid/late thirties now 0_o) etc. etc.
no matter what you do like getting off your face or having a quiet meal, make sure its special but dont take it too personally, if the day isnt that good then dont worry, mabye try to arrange something with your closest friends and put that memory in the day.
i do want this blog to be kinda interactive like write a reply or comment or something to tell me about you fav and worst birthdays but we kinda only have the one follower, still it would be intersting so please do. birthday wishes all round,

Bookworm

heya everyone,
one of the many must haves on the long shopping list of summer, is a book. not a serious epic novella but a funny, mabye sad at times, enthralling, girlie summer read. a book that is at home by the pool and sits comfortably in your hands as you huddle in a chair overlooking your picturesque holiday destination!
i have read many books over the summers that i have been alive and would recommend: candypop by lauren laverne, harry potter and (any of them really but try to start with the first one if you haven't read any, it will make a lot more sense!) by JK Rowling, angus, thongs and full-frontal snogging (and co.) by louise rennison, the mediator (and co.) by meg cabbot-along with the princess diaries etc-, most books by marian keyes (the title isn't called 'most books' i was just saying..oh u know what i mean), wild roses by ..i cant remember but it is a great book (if you can find it!), paradise by katie price (apparently very good, well its no.1 on all those reading lists anyway).
i recommend all these books highly along with various magazines for the long journey: HEAT (!!!), seventeen (if you can get your hands on one as it is an american magazine that isn't sold at all shops), closer, pick me up (etc. lol), grazia, elle ( loads of freebies), sugar (lads mag too-great for laughs)
i have aimed all this at teens so sorry if this doesn't work for you but i know that i love all these different pieces of reading material and your holiday will never have a boring moment when you have one of these at least to keep you company.

2.Girls who expose other girls when they are angry at you... You know when you just had a fight with a mate, and you told her fuck loads of secrets, then next thing you know, you start hearing from someone down the road, that doesn't even know you name, saying " ohh... i know you slept with Alex.." or some crap like that. Its like OMDS.. im pretty sure, no one want that done to them, so WHY DO IT. HAVE SOME BRAINS YOU DUMBASSES.

3. Girl who are ridiculous flirts. Like when they lead boys on, and then say no when they ask them out,,, or, Say if you have a mate 'Lizzy', and you tell her, oh yh i really like 'Mat' *made up name* and that you think you have a chance with him..

Next thing you know, you see 'Lizzy' sitting on him, and having lunch with him, and laughing with him and shit like that, and he holds this conversation with you....

Mat: Hey *insert name here* there's something i need to tell you...

You: Just say..

Mat: But i dont know if it's the right time..

You: Just say, i won't judge..

Mat: *insert name here*...

You: Yeah.. (getting you hopes up for the bigg three words...)

Mat: I really love...

Okay, i geuss i can't complain, we must be patient, but thank you follower! it means a lot!

i told Fiz i would update this today, but i geuss now its tomorrow, cos we need to make this better, a place where people will be interested at the stuff we post! stuff that i think you guys might like is charlieissocoollike on you tube, apparently he's kinda famous but i only just found out about him, totally fallen in love now :P he does vlogs (video blogs) which are really funny, and check out his friends too! but u guys can choose.
sadly i was up till 2 am watching his videos, i must go to bed earlier tonight as i need to pack for latitude, the festival.
festival season is upon us and so are the sales XD go out and shop quick!!! loads of shops have a festival range right now which is kinda boho type clothes, but some really nice stuff. my favs are miss selfridge and topshop, kinda expensive....but the sales are on, anything is possible!!
festivals are very very very very expensive and you have to buy tickets way in advance to some of the big fests like glastonbury. not gonna call 'em fests anymore. there are ways to buy tickets cheaper at short notice on the internet, so kepp ur eyes peeled. if ur not in vip camping for a festival it can be quite unpleasant and unenjoyable so be prepared, festivals are about letting your hair down, you just gotta go crazy (clothes as well as personality) and have fun cos if u do it'l be great!

p.s. funny fest story- i was texting fiz wen some randomer started talkin to me and askin me where i lived (i waas thinking, eeww u stalker!) then he was like how old r u *can't reveal real age* ...ten yrs older then i actually am, etc then he went down,down. then wen i told him he was like 'no way, u know i'm 39 right' and i was thinking err don't flatter urself of course i did, so stop jitting on me! believe me i am pretty young so u should hav seen his face :)

Summer top tips part 2!

Your body-
okay so there is pressure everywhere on women telling them they need to slim down, get a boob job and slap on fake tan...well you don't! as long as you are toned and feel confident in your body, or appear to, you will look great! CONFIDENCE is key and even if your not feeling it right to the bottom of your heart, it doesn't matter. just keep telling yourself to respect your body and it will come!

-start a fitness diary, write down what you are going to do each day and cross it off once it is done!
-try exercising every morning for 30 mins, BEFORE BREAKFAST, this speeds up your metabolism throughout the day but it doesn't mean you can eat more than normal and get away with it! work out for as long as you stretch for and stretch before and after. stretching tones parts of your body which is what you want.
excersize every part of your body and do this at least 30 mins every day but the longer the better.

-practice walking and being confident in every day life, which can just mean holding yourself more upright, looking happy and purposeful with everything you do, then when the clothes are off, it won't be so hard.

-get a bikini/swimsuit that suits your shape, there are millions of web pages and mags that will show what is best for you so check it out. always try it on before you get it but keep your underwear on!

-don't worry if the scales don't show that you have lost anything and if you have gained but it doesn't look like you have...muscle weighs more than fat! :D

-don't go on any crazy diets just eat a little less and more balanced, and you can also find out what that is by checking the internet for 'balanced diet plate'.

-if you are considering bulimia or anorexia, STOP right now. anorexia is a serious illness that affects the people around you as much a syourself. it puts you in an unstable mental state and is extremely unhealthy, the effects of it can ripple throughout your whole life so please consult a doctor or someone you trust if you are acting strangely towards food e.g. not eating potatoes because they think they'll make you really fat and ugly.

-bulimia is just as bad! it is quite unpleasant to make yourself sick after every meal and it fucks with your metabolism too. as a short fix i guess it's ok but as time goes by when you stop you will put on weight a lot easier because your body will immediatley store food as fat because it has got confused by getting food then having to get rid of it again.

-one more thing...if u walk on your tip toes at home then it tones your bum!

SO what should you have worn today??

-Today, seeing as it is cloudy/rainy in london...

it would be best to get your day together in a smart Boyfriend Blazer, or Tuxedo jacket.

-To keep warm for when you wait for the bus, but for you to not sweat buckets when you run for it- wear a smart, white wash blouse. Could be flowery (-prefferably lace for that sexy look)!

-For the classy look, carry the big bag or a small clutch purse, and the smart wedges, clogs or heeled broages.

-Keep the make-up plain and classy. Nude or red lips, fair eye shadow, plenty of eyeliner and mascara, for the vivid '60s' eye look.

-Hair scraped back into a chic ballerina bun. (this will emphasise you large dangling earrings!)

- High waisted trousers or skirt, to finish off the 'office' look.

THEN YOUR READY 2 GO :D

summer top tips!

Feet=
okay so as you guys all know, IT'S SUMMER, probably the best season. at the mo' england are having a fab summer (touch wood and all that) so u can't hide away from the world covered in jumpers and woolly socks >;( i will be watching u.
we should all be showing our feet and not hiding them behind converse so to keep em looking good here are some tips and rules u must follow;

-take care of ur nails by cutting and buffing them about once every 1/2 weeks. for this you should get some good nail clippers and a nail file with the 4 different sides :). apply a base coat that will protect them and one that applies to your type of nails e.g. weak, discoloured. don't ever paint them a skanky colour like dark green or something along those lines. bright colours are nice if u have good feet, if not then go for a darker or natural colour that won't pay much attention to them. if ur nails are reacting badly to the polish then stop immediately and give 'em a break! (don't wear matching finger and toe nail polish) when the colour starts to chip re apply asap. never let toenails grow long. clean up any smudges wen wet asap.
-if u have a foot condition or other abnormality then get it checked out and if it is noticable then cover your feet until u can see the foot doctor, i don't meen winter boots but mabye fashionable brogues or canvas shoes!
-every little detail matters. moisterise ur feet and use scrubs for hard/cracked heels. make sure their is no dirt in between ur toes and u should be good to go!
-with ur footwear u need to be fashionable! flip-flops r forever in and havianas are especially nice, wen it comes to flip-flops be adventurous cos it will add a twist to any outfit. gladiators are a bit last year but we luv 'em. any sandles u get shouldn't be envelopedd in bulging skin so if they don't fit, let them go. be careful also because sometimes u can go too ott or tacky, jellies are in and clear ones look better then opaque. socks never ever ever unless it is evening or mild out and they are lace and ur shoes are high-heeled, seriously this is uber-important!

Okay, this is a step to step guide, for all you geeks (or wannabe's) who got nothin better to do with their lives.. SHAME ON YOU.


In order to get this right, before we start, you gotta understand that YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE, AND YOU DO NOT WANNA CHANGE FOR THE WORST.


^^^ LOOK AT THAT.. The GOLDEN rule. (:


1. Okay, so what you do is go to school. Don't walk in, don't run in, but stroll in. Keep your head high, and look cool, and laid back. (MAKE SURE U LOOK GOOD AND SMELL GOOD). Smile, and make eye contact with everyone you talk to. You can smile, yeah, but whateva you do- DON'T LOOK SAD. :/ its real bummer.


2. Make friends with the 'Popular' crowd. Eat lunch with them, even bumlick them (but not on extreme levels, just enough to let them know that ur nice). Make sure you have evidence you are mates with them.. like pictures are stuff like that.


3.Pick up on the 'in' stuff, like clothes, and new slang..


4.Make your own signature accessory, like to always wear earrings, and always change them. Or to always wear scarves or sunglasses? Dunno, u pick..


5.Join a team, or popular club.


6. Crack a few jokes from your oler brother in a big crowd, just to get your name around.


7. Get a make over, and look PENG!!


8.Get the most popular girl drunk at a party, take an embarassing picture of her,expose her and show EVERYONE.


9. Tell all her friends, that she's a whore who slept with their crushes/boyfs, and she stinks like poo.. tee hee


10.If she tries to make a comeback, just bust out the picture of her ;:D

Angry, much?

Well helloo there (: Angry much---- YES.

Forgive me for ranting to you, but I am quite very angered at the fact some people are so rude. End of.
People can be selfish, and just can't care less about others feelings. I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT..
But i tell you, whenever any of you get angry at someone, take yourself away from the situation, go and sit in a quiet place, and calm down. Before you say something you regret, and its too late to take it back..
Especially when it's someone that you care about ALOT.

Do it for me; when you're angry, listen to music-- plug in both your earphones and be in your own little world.Where you're invinciblee.. and no one can harm you ??

Then look into the mirror, and pull the faces you feel. Remebering that these are the faces you make when your angry. In time, this will be useful for modelling an angry pose, or acting. It all links in the same way..
