and what about THAT dress!

A squeal of excitement woke me on the morning of the royal wedding, it was early and I tried to ignore my excited neighbours and sleep some more, eventually i decided that i didn't want to miss out on anything exciting and got up. There i sat from just after 8am watching, unblinking, gasping at all the hats and horrendous colours and ahhh-ing at the chic Beckhams. Finally the time came when Kate Middleton Duchess of cornwall got into her car and we caught a glimpse of white! (well of course it ws going to be white!) and as the car pulled away and travelled along the road to Westminster Abbey we saw the beautiful lace, the slightly low neckline..it was BEAUTIFUL! The dress really showed all the class that Kate Middleton DOC has. As many predecessors chose a 20ft-or so- long train, Kate went for a modest three. What are your comments on the dress? Yay or Nay? and NO cinicism!

A cautionary tale...

By now you may of heard about the tragic story of Isobel 'issy' Reilly, 15 years old. She died on Friday, almost a week ago. Some of you will point fingers and blame people who aren't really to blame, because what happened that night was a mistake...and it could have happened to anyone. Issy went to a close friends house party, probably looking forward to Easter as all of us were, with kids possibly from 14-16. With no parents around they partied and got a bit drunk and had fun, and then sometime before 4am the host, two boys and Issy went to find some weed that they thought was hidden somewhere in the house. As they were looking they didn't find weed, a soft drug, but pills of LSD, ecstasy and ketamine, which are extremely harmful. The kids didn't know what exactly these pills were, but thought that taking them could add to the fun. After taking one pill each and feeling no affect, Issy was brave, or naive, enough to take another. With these sorts of drugs the affects are strong but do not have an immediate affect. The second pill was too much and Issy had a heart attack and died at about 4am on saturday. The ambulance were immediately called and she was taken to hospital along with the three other people who had taken the drug. Doctors tried to resuscitate her but it was too late.

Don't let it be too late, think before you act, don't let anyone tell you your not cool because you aren't doing what they are, do have fun-your only young once!

Every single day we judge things by what's on their cover, no matter how many times we've heard that old saying. Advertising companies are just too clever, they know what looks good and what doesn't, and how to put something in the perfect spot so it will catch your eye and you'll fall for it!

OGNiki = Loved by Youtube?

Those of you who have been on youtube lately, would probably have been witness to the release of a freestyle rap called 'Spit your Game' by a teenage Londoner known by the name of 'OGNiki'. (video below)

In the rap, the youth mentions how she 'lost her viginnity at 16' ..and other things you might not particularly want to know...

I have to be honest with you, i didn't even laugh when i first saw it- i was genuinely shocked.
IS THIS WHAT LONDON SOCIETY HAS COME TO??!!
The video has recieved comments such as:

" YO! THIS CHICK’S GOT AIDS! SHES PASSED IT ON TO 12 OF MY FRIENDS ALREADY!!! THEY ALL BANGED IT BARE BACK IN A YARD!! SHES A PROPER SLAG!!!!!!" (www.grimedaily.com/)

I want it now!!

Things...we are surrounded by them. We try not to be materialistic but then we see the new Marc Jacobs skirt or Chanel handbag and we don't care what it takes, we want it. But as soon as the glamour of that new possession in your own hands, all glossy and new smelling, wears off..you're left with just another thing. Something you own that you skim past each day once you realise you can't match it to the clothes in your wardrobe or it looks daft on an actual person but not on the model.

And yet we still want these things! Top of my want list as of now is a CUPCAKE TRAMPOLINE not any trampoline in the shape of a cupcake, but one used in Katy Perry's recent tour with money from it's sale being donated to the red cross to help aid in Japan after the recent, tragic earthquake and tsunami!

ROYAL WEDDING MANIA

We have now commenced into the month of the Royal Wedding, and that less important holiday Easter, and boy has Britain gone mad!

If you live in London then you can't walk more than five miles before seeing market stalls and tourist shops with the smiling faces of Will and Kate. You can buy cushions, blankets, flags, mugs, cups, plates even boxers that shout out the love that our future king and queen share for each other.

The story of an ordinary upper-middle class English sweetheart falling for a prince is wonderful, but that tackiness that goes along with it is ridiculous! I may have bought my own little flag to wave on the day but true artists have much more original ideas and i think that the royal wedding has actually given them a platform to show their creativity and get noticed by all folk in town.
